COLIN RICH
Founder, Deer Dog Visuals
A native of Los Angeles, CA, Colin Rich's first foray in the film world was making videos and clay-mation shorts with friends on the weekends while attending Windward High School in Santa Monica, CA. He was accepted at NYU's Tisch School of the Arts where he studied film production with a focus on cinematography.
Rich started work at Panavision NYC as a prep tech, where he was noticed by cinematographer, Alwin Kuchler, BSC and hired to help shoot a time lapse VFX shot for the film 'Morning Glory' (Diane Keaton, Harrison Ford).
Rich continued to work with Alwin on a number of his films including, 'Marley', 'RIPD' but then started his own projects, beginning with a series of high altitude space balloons called Pacific Star, the subsequent video went viral.
He followed up with a series of timelapse portraits on his home town, Los Angeles, creating LA Light, Nightfall, City Lights, and Last Light (the last two films being a collaboration with artist M83.)
